Dr. John H. Helm Jr.

John was born at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. John grew up enjoying the outdoors, crabbing, fishing, and hunting in and around the Chesapeake Bay. He was the captain of his State Championship baseball team leading the team in hitting and home runs. John played two years of college baseball earning honorable mention All-American honors.

John joined the Marine Corps at the age of 23, first working as an avionics technician and aircrew on CH-53E helicopters. He then earned his bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering and transitioned to the officer corps as an F/A-18 pilot. John earned the designation of a section leader and transitioned to the executive leadership position. He worked for his final six years of service as the lead aviation planner for Southeast Asia. John revamped the management of the live fly cell. He used his knowledge to develop a training curriculum for aviation planning and oversight, teaching this to several military leaders in Southeast Asia.

John earned a Bronze Star medal for his exemplary work as the Recruiting Advisor for the Iraqi Armed Forces, and a Meritorious Service Medal for leading a search and rescue effort saving the lives of four downed Marine Corps aircrew members while working in Thailand. John is a service-disabled veteran.

John retired from the Marine Corps, working as an engineer for the Public Service Commission and then five years for a Fortune 100 utility company. John distinguished himself by standing up the Distribution Program Management Office breaking corporate records for the installation of recloser devices. He left this position to stand up a branch for a consulting firm, quickly ramping up to over $10 million in revenue in just over a year. John has the desire to create a company focused on the client and on the quality of life for his employees, creating Rockhead Consulting, there he is CEO and Chairman.

John has Master’s degrees in Business Administration and International Enterprise Management and a Doctorate of Business Administration. He is certified by PMI as a PMP, PgMP, and PfMP and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

John worked with Hunter for the past seven years sharing his love and enthusiasm about hunting and the environment.

Hunter Bourne

Hunter was born in the Appalachian mountains. From a young age he spent time in the mountains of Virginia learning how wildlife interact and has always had a love for the outdoors. He takes harvesting any animal very serious and does this with respect to the animals he harvests.

Hunter comes from humble beginnings. Starting his career at the age of 18 in the line industry. He was able to become a journeyman lineman at the age of 20 and ran a line crew as a foreman at the age of 24. He was able to work high voltage transmission lines, installing towers, poles, and working from helicopters.  Hunter then transitioned to several management positions as the Manager of Field Resources at Carian and then the Director of Field Resources at Rockhead Consulting. Hunter is distinguished by having several writeups and TV interviews on Transmission & Distribution World.

Hunter desired to make a difference and combined his passion and love for hunting and the outdoors with his vision to make an exceptional cup of coffee. He became a certified roast master and has created several different roast of gourmet coffee, tailoring his products to the hunting industry, thus Hit’Em Right Coffee was born.
